Our Team

The Emerald Coast Team is comprised of a group of experienced entrepreneurs that have started, bought, and sold businesses, and also participated in numerous national and regional mergers and acquisitions. Each member has their own individual skill sets and abilities, while overall possessing a strong business acumen. We understand both sides of buying and selling a business, and our number one priority is to meet and exceed your expectations.


Greg Hasley is a successful entrepreneur with 29 years of sales and management experience and 18 years logistics experience. Greg founded a same day courier company that grew both organically and through acquisitions to become one of the leading same day solutions providers in the Southeast. Prior to being sold to a private equity group in January 2012, the company had grown to 18 different offices with over 700 people. Greg also founded a custom transport company that provides specialized transportation and supply chain services to the oil and gas industry. This business is currently operating in the major shale plays. Greg has been involved in over two dozen startups, mergers, acquisitions and sales. A graduate of the University of Arkansas, Greg is a past American Red Cross board member and is active in his community. He also holds a private pilot’s flying license with over 2,000 flying hours.


Patrick Vota is both an entrepreneur and a logistics executive with 25 years of experience providing custom supply chain solutions to the Fortune 100. After serving in the Army as an Armor Officer, Patrick joined Wal-Mart in distribution management. Three years later he left Wal-Mart and founded a third party logistics company that provided logistical services for Wal-Mart, Target, Dollar General and Family Dollar. In just 36 months, the business was successful and thriving with 25 locations in 10 states.  In 2002, Patrick negotiated a merger with a friendly competitor resulting in 85 operating units with 2,000 employees and revenue of $100 million annually in only 24 months. After the merger, Patrick served as Executive Vice President, Chief Operating Officer and Chief Executive Officer.

In 2007, Patrick joined Centuria Ventures as Chief Operating Officer. Centuria Ventures was established as a business incubator and private equity firm. Over the next two years Patrick lead the development and startup of five industry specific companies. In 2010 Patrick joined EagleOne as Chief Operating Officer. EagleOne was comprised of two national operating companies. One, a southeast based same day courier company with 18 locations and 700 drivers, later sold in 2012 to a private equity company. The other, a custom transport company that provides specialized transportation and supply chain services to the oil and gas industry. This business is currently operating in the major shale plays.  Patrick has participated in 14 startups, 8 ownerships, and multiple sales and mergers.


J.T. Smith has over 25 years combined experience with national and regional public accounting firms, as well as private industry experience serving as Corporate Controller for a large privately-held multi-state manufacturing company with over 4,000 employees.  His public accounting experience includes clients from a variety of industries including non-profit organizations, healthcare (hospitals, nursing homes, home health agencies, and assisted living facilities – including serving as interim CFO for a regional hospital), animal agriculture, manufacturing and distribution, retail, automobile, hospitality, construction, and transportation. A graduate of Harding University and CPA,  J.T. is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Arkansas Society of Certified Public Accountants.  J.T. is past Treasurer and member of the Board of Directors of Girls, Inc. in Fort Smith, Arkansas and has served on the President’s Advisory Council of Harding University in Searcy, Arkansas.


Shane Cannon is a successful entrepreneur and military veteran with over 30 years experience creating new business opportunities.  He has extensive knowledge in marketing, sales, and construction.

Mr. Cannon’s professional background includes real estate development, construction management, commercial investments, real estate sales, and property acquisitions.  His current responsibilities include:

  • Owner, Spinnaker Realty Inc.
  • Vice President, BCW Construction Inc.
  • Managing Member, Diamond Lake Offices, LLC

Mr. Cannon resides in Destin, Florida and is committed to specialized quality development in the Emerald Coast Region.  His current memberships include the Florida and National Association of Realtors, Citizens for a Greater Destin, Main Street Business Alliance, and American Legion.


Major General Bowen Ballard, USAFR served over 37 years in the U.S. Air Force Reserves. General Ballard had key assignments at Headquarters Air Force, Air Force Space Command, Air Mobility Command, and the National Security Agency. He played a key role in transitioning Air Force special operation forces from the Tactical Air Command to the Military Airlift Command and participated with SOF on an international basis.

General Ballard is a graduate of the University of Alabama with a B.S. in Finance and Real Estate.  General Ballard is Chief Executive Officer of a real estate corporation and director of a commercial bank.  He also maintains a civilian pilot’s license with more than 6,000 flying hours.


Bowen Ballard is a licensed Florida and Alabama Real Estate Broker. He has been an Emerald Coast resident for over 15 years. His qualifications include a BS in Marketing plus an MBA (focused on management) from the University of Alabama.  His entrepreneurial experience ranges from financial industry start-ups to international video production and distribution.  He also holds a commercial pilot license.

Mr. Ballard’s professional experience includes:

  • Owner and Broker of Spinnaker Realty
  • Owner and Founder of Insite Productions

Mr. Ballard’s roots run deep in the emerald coast region with a membership in the Emerald Coast Association of Realtors.  He also has memberships in the National Association of Realtors and Commercial Investment Real Estate Institute.


Shannon Lewis holds a real estate license in Florida, Alabama, Georgia, and South Carolina, and has lived in Destin for the last 16 years. He graduated from the University of Arkansas with a Bachelor of Science with a major in Psychology. Shannon Lewis now is also a licensed realtor in Arkansas.
